Anti Skid Overbanding North West
More and more councils/main contractors are requesting anti-skid over banding joint sealant instead of over banding with normal bitumen. The reason for this is because it does not constitute a road hazard, whereas normal bitumen does.
It is an anti-skid waterproofing sealant for horizontal joints and cracks in concrete and asphalt/tarmac roads, where extra protection is required beyond the edges of such joints or cracks.
It will exceed the skid resistance value of SRV 55 and required by the New Roads and Street Works Act, the Design Manual for Roads and Bridges (HD31/94) and by many County Council Highway Specifications for anti-skid over banding and reinstatement works.
